Introduction
To steer and support the strategic move towards more intensive and systematic adoption of Virtual Teaching and Learning (VTL) in the medium to long run by the entire higher education sector, UGC and QAC introduced a Special Grant for Strategic Development of VTL in mid-2021. LTTC has been working on the project “Focusing on Facilitating Learning in Virtual Teaching and Learning” under this scheme to to facilitate self-regulated learning and enrich staff and students in university-wide level.
Objectives
(1) Facilitate exchange among various VTL projects and identify the best VTL practices to facilitate learning
(2) Coordinate the promotional /dissemination work among the various VTL projects concerned for better synergy, efficiency, and culture-building
(3) Explore what changes are needed in the current quality assurance (QA) policies and procedures regarding VTL based on colleagues’ and students’ feedback, hence making suggestions/ recommendations for revising current VTL strategy, QA policies and/ or procedure.
Activities-to-date

Organised seminars on self-regulated learning strategies in virtual teaching/learning environment

Set up Communities of Practices (CoPs) for teachers and students of a small number of courses

Conducted interviews with CoPs members and prepared case studies

Conducted two rounds of university-wide survey

Organised dissemination of project achievements
