Students are welcome to join the course titled “Introduction to Swift Playground and iOS Apps Development with Xcode” in the coming semesters to learn iOS App development with Swift. After completing the course, you will become our EdUHK ambassadors to teach App development in local primary and secondary schools. The details are as follows:

Course Details

 Introduction to Swift Playground and iOS Apps Development with Xcode

Tutor: LTTC staff
Duration: 24 hours in total (8 lessons x 3 hours)
Quota: 40 students
Date: 18, 20, 25 and 27 June 2019 (Tuesday and Thursday)
Time: 10:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
Venue: Computer and 3D Printing Room (E-P-12)

In this 24-hour course, students will learn about the elements of Swift programming language in Xcode Playground on iPad, as a kick-start incentive for students to dig out the power and fun of the platform. They will also learn how to make their own iPhone or iPad apps with Apple’s Xcode and Swift programming language, through a series of hands-on tutorials and practices. Even the students have little programming knowledge would be able to follow along with the step-by-step instructions and understand how a mobile app is developed. More importantly, students can build up their understanding of programming through making apps and solving real world problems logically and programmatically. By the end of the course, they are expected to be experienced enough to transform their ideas into real apps. This course is a stepping stone to open up students’ curiosity to learn and explore the realm of coding and programming.
