Seminar on Teaching Development Grant(TDG) Projects (II)

Self-initiated transfer of learning is the ultimate aim of teaching. How does it take place in reality? What are the facilitating factors? Can learning in creativity courses transferrable to daily-life? To answer these questions, a longitudinal study was launched to understand students’ self-initiated transfer of learning in two creativity courses in our GE curriculum. The results revealed that, through near/far transfer, generalization, internalization and reconstruction of what are learnt in the courses, the learning impacts can sustain for a long time in some students. Hearing their unique amazing stories, you would see how many unpredictable ways students can transform/integrate the course elements with their individual life experiences.
