Abstract
Professionalism requires knowledge and skills in subject matter as well as global competencies such as cultural awareness, language and adaptability. Increasingly professional judgement, social perceptiveness, complex decision making skills, communication and the ability to manage people and resources are important and essential for professional growth. Dr Carmen Wong will illustrate her teaching philosophies and innovation in fostering professionalism of her works in the undergraduate medical curriculum at the Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and how these skills/tools can help students transition into professional development. Dr Carmen Wong will also highlight useful concepts from medical education which apply to professionalism training.
