Abstract
Using Empathy as a Core Teaching Strategy: Case Studies and Practices to Improve Teaching Experiences
Empathy helps students to gain first-hand insight into the experiences of a diverse population. As a teacher, I believe empathy is the key to forging creative leaders of tomorrow towards a more equal and diverse society. In this presentation, I will explain how I have been using empathy as a core teaching strategy to deliver theoretical content closer to people’s lives, for students to practice those theories, and for me to stand in students’ shoes and improve my teaching.
