Abstract

This seminar provides an overview of the publication process and the key principles that guide decision-making as a journal editor and reviewer. First, I will share the editors’ perspectives on academic publishing, including how editors conduct initial screening of submissions, identify and secure reviewers, and make editorial decisions. Then I will assume the role of the reviewer. Topics range from the significance of the research and the framing of the study to more detailed concerns around the methodology and analysis. The seminar ends with considerations on how to effectively respond to review comments in revision.
