STEM Innovation Hub

(C-LP-06)

The STEM Innovation Hub of LTTC at C-LP-06 will serve as a connection point of LTTC with students and staff to promote e-Learning and digital competency development. When the STEM Innovation Hub becomes available, students and staff members can experience cutting edge technologies, such as reinforcement learning in Artificial Intelligence Literacy. Powerful computers will also be available for students to practice e-Learning and digital competency related activities, such as Scratch, App Inventor, and Python programming.

Roadshow

Roadshow is to be constantly organised at the STEM Innovation Hub during lunch hours for EdUHK students and staff to experience the environment of the Hub and to get familiar with various educational technologies. Please stay tuned for the Roadshow!

 

Video Production Room

(E-P-16)

The Video Production Room is to support the production of quality video resources for enhancing blended learning and e-Learning related initiatives, and facilitate the content creation of Mini-Massive Open Online Courses (Mini-MOOCs)/Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs) by the provision of a well-equipped video production environment. Equipped with state-of-art one-touch video recording system, professional lighting system, chroma-key green screen, computer, wireless microphone, mixers and high-quality pan–tilt–zoom (PTZ) camera featured with IR tracking, the Video Production Room is designed as a facilitation to cater all-around needs of forging an e-Learning environment in University. This room can provide more efficient, convenient and cost-effective tools for academic/teaching staff to produce video resources for daily teaching, VBLC sharing and Moodle course resources.

Tips for Production

  • Avoid wearing anything in green
  • Ready your PowerPoint (widescreen 16:9)
  • Bring a USB drive (around 80MB for 1 minute video)
  • A video topic can be divided into different sub-topics, and each video should not be more than 5 minutes

Metaverse Education Lab

The Metaverse Education Lab is well equipped with 24” iMac, 3D printers and interactive boards for students to learn mobile app development and 3D printing design and production.

Large Language Model Studio

(E-P-13)

Aiming to utilise the potential of large language models to empower education, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) established and launched the Large Language Model (LLM) Studio at Room E-P/F-13. The studio offers a Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform to enable the creation and customisation of smart workflows for educational needs, provides consultation services for EdUHK teaching staff to find solutions or optimisation strategies to adopt LLM-powered utilities for more specific purposes, and conducts workshops to equip participants with practical skills for using LLM and LLM-enabled tools to meet diverse educational needs.

Artificial Intelligence Education Laboratory

(E-1/F-07)

The computer room at E-1/F-07 has been reopened as the Artificial Intelligence Education Laboratory. The venue has been refurbished with 40 high-performance desktop computers with graphic cards, suitable for computation-intensive tasks such as image analyses, game design, AR/ VR design and video editing. State-of-the-art interactive display panels were installed to facilitate classes and group interactions.

LTTC will offer workshops on the use of this Lab soon. OCIO will also offer workshops on how to use the various pieces of equipment in this facility, such as the classroom control system, interactive boards and sound-recording system. Above all, this multi-purpose facility will further enrich the landscape of AI education and pedagogical innovation at EdUHK.
