Introduction

Digital Teaching Portfolios are used at the University as a professional development tool for academic and teaching staff to document their teaching practices and scholarship of teaching, and for sharing among staff of the University to build a professional learning community.

Applications

Using the ePortfolio platforms (e.g. Mahara, Sway and Google Sites), Digital Teaching Portfolios allow academic and teaching staff to build their individual/group online portfolios to engage in documentation of teaching practices, reflection upon their pedagogies, professional collaboration, course development, and constructive ongoing dialogues with regard to the whats and hows of effective and innovative teaching. On the other hand, staff can form learning communities with students on Mahara, to enhance student learning through reflection and interaction.
