Introduction
You may need to conduct statistical analysis on your data but do not quite know where to start; you would like to acquire a better grasp of the statistical concepts but are a bit overwhelmed. To support you in these aspects, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) is offering a (non-credit bearing) blended learning course, Statistical Concepts in Higher Education!
About the Course
Blended Learning Mode
The course: Statistical Concepts in Higher Education will consist of four lessons with the instructor together with around 10 hours of self-learning materials on an online learning platform. Unlike conventional lessons, you will only need to attend a short one-hour lesson each week. You can organize the remaining self-learning time according to your own schedule and learn at any place. The weekly lesson will feature an instructor to teach key concepts for each topic and to answer your questions. The course will conclude with a short test to check your understanding of the course materials.
Wide Variety of Digital Resources
The learning platform includes a wide variety of digital resources to support your online self-learning, such as videos and statistical simulation with guided examples, short quizzes to review your learning progress, a concept map to give you an overview of the connection between the topics introduced.
Understanding Statistical Concepts in Real Situation
In addition to the theoretical knowledge, this course will also explain the application of statistics under different contexts, such as the use of hypothesis testing. We will provide a range of real-life examples to illustrate the functions of the theories, the proper way to apply them and the correct way to interpret the results.
