FITE Project Shortlisted for QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024
[Hong Kong, 9 October 2024] FITE Project Shortlisted for QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024
We are excited to announce that our project, “Leveraging the Metaverse to Promote Data Security and Privacy Awareness,” funded by the UGC’s Fund for Innovative Technology-in-Education (FITE), has been shortlisted in the “Immersive Experiential Learning” category for the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Centre for Learning, Teaching, and Technology (LTTC) and the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
The project leverages immersive virtual simulations, real-world scenarios, and academic-context-specific examples to enhance understanding of data security and privacy. By equipping students and educators at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) with the knowledge and resources needed to safeguard their data, this project aims to foster responsible and ethical data-handling practices within the academic community.
This year, the QS Reimagine Education Awards received over 1,300 submissions across 18 award categories. The first round of evaluations, conducted by over 800 international judges, was highly competitive. Our project’s shortlisting in the top 25% is a testament to the project’s excellence in educational innovation.
